In late September, MOSECON personnel had the great pleasure to participate in the International Women’s Forum (IWF) World Leadership Conference in Chicago, titled “Crossroads of Change“.
Yan St-Pierre was asked to be part of a panel about the “New Era of Terrorism”, moderated by Jeanne Meserve and featuring also Candace Rondeaux, Dr. Amjad Juma’in and Michael Ortiz, and Susanne Schröder, MOSECON’s CFO, accompanied him to Chicago to do some networking with and learning from other female leaders.
This has probably been the best, and surely the most impressive conference any MOSECON staff ever attended. It was not only perfectly organised from start to finish, but the 800 delegates from 40 countries were also taken on separate sightseeing tours, like the Architectural River Cruise, and to smaller dining locations (e.g. the Chicago Club), where everyone could meet old friends, as well as talk to new acquaintances.
The women at the conference were so genuinely nice and welcoming that one could easily forget, how accomplished they are. The range of industries and businesses was as diverse as were the personal backgrounds, and this was also well reflected in all the panels and presentations, spanning “Future Forecasts”, the “Economy of Tomorrow”, as well as transportation and media.
The conference highlights can be found on IWF’s website. Susanne’s personal highlight was “Ideas Remaking the World”, and especially panelist Susan Sygall, who just rocked. If you ever doubted what one woman could accomplish, have a look at her project and think again.
MOSECON would like to thank Susan, the IWF organisers and the rest of these incredible ladies for a mind-blowing three days in Chicago, and Susanne says: “Susan, Godyne, Ruth, Jessy, I would love to be stuck on a boat with you any time. Joanne, Kaarina, Nelly and Carolyn, hopefully you’ll be in that boat, too, and we can exchange more stories and ideas. Sara, as long as you’re the captain, all will be well.”
