Joanna Bostock, reporter with FM4 of Austrian radio station ORF, asked Yan St-Pierre for his analysis of the Iraqi hostage raid recently performed by US special forces and Iraqi Kurdish Peshmerga forces.
They’ve been consistent with their special forces operations, the most prominent example occuring earlier this year in May with the assassination of Abu-Sayef and the capture of his wife. Technically, special forces operations are joint operations. In this case, they were invited by the Kurish government in Northern Iraq. So this is not as if the Americans were truly sending the proverbial boots on the ground.
