Christian Cummins, journalist with Austrian radio station FM4 at ORF, asked Yan St-Pierre for his analysis of the attack in Nice, France.
“Using a truck as a weapon of destruction is no surprise.” says Yan St-Pierre. “It’s been used very commonly in Israel, France, Canada. (…) This is a situation where everybody can be perceived as a terrorist now. Clasically, terrorists have always used what’s at hand. (…) In fact it’s always about using the most simplistic tools. (…) Especially for these types of events (…) you block the streets, create a type of buffer zone. (…) You need to have the balance between the human factor and the technological factor. (…) Unfortunately it was to be expected, because they (security/police) are completely exhausted. (…)
