Danielle Paquette, The Washington Post‘s West Africa bureau chief, interviewed Yan St-Pierre on the alleged death of Boko Haram’s leader, Abubakar Shekau.
Lately the larger force had been expanding its reach across northern Nigeria and into Cameroon, said Yan St-Pierre, a counterterrorism adviser and head of the Modern Security Consulting Group in Berlin. “The last remaining domino was the Sambisa forest,” he said — Shekau’s stronghold.
