Heather Murdock, journalist with Voice of America, has conducted an interview with Yan St-Pierre on the abduction of the Chiboc girls by Boko Haram.
The abduction of more than 200 teenage girls from their schoolhouse in northern Nigeria created a lot of sympathy as well as speculations on what exactly happened to the girls, especially after dozens of them managed to escape. The military are hesitant in their actions. As Yan St-Pierre points out, “For the girls right now, it’s finding the proper back-channels that would allow for negotiations, that would allow the girls to be freed,” he said. “They would then save face.”
