Chrispin Mwakideu, reporter at Germany’s foreign news channel Deutsche Welle, asked Yan St-Pierre for his input on the regional summit on Boko Haram which took place in Abuja on June 11th. The article titled Nigeria’s wish to command the regional anti-Boko Haram force quotes Yan St-Pierre as follows:
“If you consider that Boko Haram started out in Nigeria and it is still mainly a Nigerian problem, this (Nigeria’s wish to command) is actually a very logical step, but the political and prestige implications will make it more difficult,” he said.
