German news channel N24 interviewed Yan St-Pierre on the kidnapping in Bamako, Mali and the ensuing rescue of the hotel guests by security forces. The reporters, Alexander Siemon and Tatjana Ohm, asked what the terror scence in Mali is like:
It is quite diverse, Mali is Al Qaida terroritory, but also Islamic State through ISWAP. There are many small cells and it’s very problematic. Mail is a country with a huge desert with a lot of traffic which is difficult to control.
