Reaching a milestone

We would like to wish everyone an excellent 2023, with health and success and hopefully less conflicts.

We also want to thank all our partners, clients and colleagues for their trust, their interest and support in 2022. Thanks to them, our 10th year was our most successful to date, and together we’ve been able to save lives and help mitigate some conflict and political violence dynamics around the world.

In 2023, we will continue to monitor the following issues and many more:
– Developments in climate activism and its impact. Will radicalization dynamics continue to accelerate in 2023 as they did in 2022, and will the violent reactions to climate protests intensify as well?
– The conflation of extremist positions and crises dynamics and their impact on political violence and terrorism, especially in Europe and North America.
– Terrorism in Africa. Will resurgences observed in 2022 in West and East Africa continue? Will the impact of terrorism be felt more clearly in West African coastal states as the spillover from the Sahel continues? How will Russia’s and the Wagner Group’s influences continue to disrupt (in)security dynamics on the continent?
– The impact of the war in Ukraine on geostrategic and geopolitical dynamics outside Europe.
– The Nigerian elections in February and its potential for electoral violence.
– The standardization of the use of vehicles as a weapon and its impact on urban security.

On a positive note, we look forward to celebrating our 10th anniversary in 2023. We will organize events and make a few changes to mark the anniversary. But most importantly, we will take the time to recognize the contributions of those who made it possible for MOSECON to develop and reach this terrific milestone.
