In its November/December 2014 edition, German Middle-East magazine Zenith has published an article by Nik Wright, MOSECON’s Director of Operations, UK on “true and fake djihadists”. The article (in German) describes the expansion of Al-Shabaab in East Africa, the power struggle at the group’s top, and the differences to Boko Haram.

Al-Shabaab is now in a position to combine a stronger, more elaborate organizational structure with a djihadist philosophy that could very well make it more dangerous than ever.

The full article is only available in print (and in German), but if you’re interested in an English translation/summary, please leave a comment or contact us via our contact form.

In light of the recent tragic event in Sydney, this article is timely.
